Vivian Vann, 52, was one of two women who forced their way into a vacant home and swiped some items before leaving the scene on N. Powhatan Street in a black sedan early Monday, March 25, officials in Arlington said.
During the course of the investigation, Vann was identified as a suspect, and a warrant for her arrest was obtained. She was subsequently taken into custody by Fairfax County police and transferred to the custody of Arlington County Police, who charged with Burglary and Unlawful Entry.
On Oct. 5, 2023, Vann barricaded herself in a home on the same block of N. Powhatan Street: The 2300 block.
When she was searched, officers recovered multiple fake IDs, credit cards, and other documents related to her alleged fraud, police said.
Earlier that day, Vann had entered a home in the 1400 block of South Quincy Street without permission, according to police, who charged her with burglary, unlawful entry, identity theft, grand larceny of an auto, and more.
Vann reportedly has a history of subterfuge and has arrests in Pennsylvania and other states for fraud incidents.
